Hello there!
Its been a while since my last blog post. Creating takes precedence over all of chores. However, sitting down and sharing new news takes a close second. First off, for 2023 I have added the option of GIFT cards. You can find them here on my website under "gift cards" Click the very top left corner of the first page search. Easy! I have available 25, 50, 100 and 500 denominations.
Secondly, I thought it was time to simply describe the process on how I make each of sculpted characters. Its a lengthy process (total time 3-8 hours each) so I will be brief. All of my art starts out with either a sketch or an idea. Once I know the direction I'm going I start by building an armature. Once the armature is completed I build up the clay. I cure the piece then its time for paint. I choose the color scheme that works perfectly with that piece. From there I add layers and layers of paint. I always hand cut all my wood bases. Once the piece is painted I add a stain and a light coating of beeswax for a nice sheen. Upon its sale I gets signed and dated an on its way!
And finally, I've been working on extending my artwork to make it available locally. There are two wonderful galleries that offer my one of a kind pieces. One of them is The Perfect Piece gallery is Lake Oswego Oregon and Lunaria Gallery in lovely downtown Silverton Oregon.
